Prayer gathering

Our bi monthly prayer gatherings are on Wednesday April 24th. Come at noon or at 7pm. Each meeting lasts for an hour. This is an opportunity to gather together to pray for each other, for the life of the church and for the wider world. Please come and join us.

Don’t throw it away!

Don't throw it away!

On Social Action Sunday we were challenged by Jack Wakefield to choose to value creation as an act of worship to God the Creator Gardener. It was astonishing that Jack had managed to cram all the things that couldn’t be recycled this year into one jar! There are ways of cutting down on containers and reducing the amount of plastic we generate. The new zero-waste shop in the Old Market Hall in the Shambles is worth a visit. You can take empty containers in and refill with cereal, dried fruit, nuts, washing products etc. If you use Ecover or Bio-D washing and cleaning products then the Eco shop at the Pump House Environment Centre in Gheluvelt Park is another place where you can take your bottles to be refilled. Check out their websites:

So let’s take up the challenge to try living a more plastic free life and play our part in conserving the amazing world that God created for us to enjoy.

Mugtastic

Mugtastic

A big thank you to everyone who donated unwanted mugs for St Paul’s Hostel. Over two weeks we collected a car boot full! The chef at St Paul’s was incredibly grateful – said we made his day.

Thank you all.

Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing

A fresh supply of 2019 Programmes for the Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing, near Cirencester, is now in the Leaflet Rack in the Upper Foyer. Harnhill has been established since 1986, providing spiritual support, prayer ministry and counsel for folk who want to discover a fresh impact of God’s healing love in their lives. Set in beautiful Cotswold countryside, it is a haven of peace and rest, and spiritual encounter. If you want to know more about Harnhill, please contact Richard Newton.

Practical pastoral care

We are looking for people who are willing to do practical pastoral care tasks. We want to create a list of people willing to cook meals and do small practical jobs such as changing a lightbulb or doing some cleaning. We also want a list of people willing to provide transport for others such as a lift to a doctors appointment. If you’re willing to serve in some or all these ways please see or email Andy Browning.
