Welcome to St Peter’s Baptist Church. You are warmly invited to find out more about us. Here you can find out what our church is like, what our priorities are and how to connect with us.
We are a committed family of Christians who follow Jesus and long to discover more about Him. We are passionate about knowing God’s love for us, sharing His love with each other, and with our local communities.
As you connect with us, we hope you will find a place where you feel very much at home and greatly blessed.

I'm New
We are a church that loves and accepts everyone, no matter what your background or experience. Whether you’re new to the area, exploring Christian faith or looking for a place to call home, come and join us on Sunday - we’d love to meet you.
We know that visiting a church for the first time can be daunting, so click below to find out everything you need to know to make your visit as easy as possible.
Our Vision
We believe in the importance of both Word and Spirit of God. We are therefore Evangelical and Charismatic. We believe the Bible is incredibly important for teaching and guiding and that the Holy Spirit’s work is vital in accomplishing God’s plans in us and through us.
Our church vision is one of Loving, Releasing, and Inviting: Loving God, each other, and our communities; Releasing the full gifting of the church so that it might be built up; Inviting others to discover and grow a relationship with Jesus and to come and belong to this family

Our History
St Peter's Baptist Church previously existed for more than 100 years as Red Hill Baptist Church, meeting in a small chapel in Cannon Street, off London Road. After many years searching for a new site to accommodate the growing numbers, a new chapter began in 2007 with the move to St Peter's and the opening of the new Church Centre.
That was a real answer to our prayers.
We hope and believe that as a church, welcoming to all, we have brought a heart to the local community through our presence and the availability of the building to others.
Safeguarding
At St Peter’s Baptist Church we aim to be a welcoming, inclusive and nurturing Christian community, where everyone will feel safe to learn, grow and worship in safety. One way that we do this is by being committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults, from harm, abuse and neglect.
We recognise and take seriously our responsibilities by having positive and proactive processes in place. These processes allow everyone to feel safe and maintain standards of best practice for the benefit of everyone in the church.
St. Peter’s Baptist Church acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and adults and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice requirements.
